JACEK ZMARZ

Jacek Zmarz is a polish-born director, working in London.

Having grown up in Hanger Lane, West London, famed for its large gyratory roundabout and melange of industrial parks, Jacek’s work is often driven by finding beauty and humour in the mundane.

His work is characterised by a tableau photography style, offbeat production design, and use of visual effects. Some of the videos have also been described as “quite funny” by close family and friends when pressed for an opinion.

He spent his teenage years making animations and games on a knock-off version of Flash, as well as studying fine art and working in graphic design. He moved into video in his early twenties, with this background helping him to carve out a unique voice with strong aesthetic sensibilities and unusual technical approaches.
